Windows 7: "customize notification area" change

when did this happen? i just noticed it works differently in 7229. instead of getting a big list with drop-down menus, you just drag/drop icons in and out of the pop-up window to make them always visible...

That's active on 7100. Heh, never woulda thought to drag outta that little window.

no way, on 7100 it's the big list. i'm sure of it.

yeah i had to go into the context-sensitive help there in the new dialog to learn about drag-drop. it's not very intuitive, but once you know the trick, it's a great way to do it

You can also re-arrange the order of the icons, hidden or shown, and this arrangement seems to be persistent.

Maybe we're speaking of different things. Screen shot?

mmm yeah i can post one tomorrow, i'm already on 7229 at home but my work computer is still 7100...

I meant from 7229 =P

So I'm on 7260 right now and I don't see any difference in how the notification area is?
