You should be fine with a re-install. No need to uninstall it first but it won't hurt to do so - just don't delete the data when it asks if you want to. If, after an un-install, then a re-install, the issue reoccurs, we'll have to look at setting you up with a new profile. I hope we don't have to do that as there are a few steps involved if you want to save all of your bookmarks (it's simple, really).

so just click the download button on the FF website? Is it safe to NOT uninstall first. this is a brand new computer and i really don't want to mess anything up.

Yeah, it's safe to not uninstall - just do a re-install via the download. If you still have the issue we'll cover the uninstall, re-install and possible profile issues afterward. Hopefully, it won't be necessary.

You're doing fine, asking the right questions and presenting screen clips of pertinent information. You've got a handle on this - I'm just here to help. :)

    Thank you, janeydoll.

I'm very happy you got it sorted. If it ever happens again, please do not hesitate to seek more help if the previous exercise doesn't fix it. It shouldn't happen again but, then, one never knows!
