i use both skydrive and live mesh, skydrive doesnt actually save your data,if its removed from your pc its gone from skydrive, live mesh will sync and save the data. so when removed from the pc is still available on the live mesh account

    People,
I have a very simple and simplistic mind.

Please, please--If you have a problem, start your own thread. Trying to hijack another person's thread only produces confusion.

Now, to the person who started this thread:
Do you still have a problem?
And I also recommend that you throw away Live Mesh and use SkyDrive. SkyDrive has gone thru a terrific improvement. True, there are a couple of features in Mesh wihich would be nice to have with SkyDrive, but there are other complications and problems inherit in Mesh which will be going away anyway. Use SkyDrive.

Hi karl, I'm back to the board now!

No, my problem has been solved (well, if you call a reinstallation "solved"). And you are right, Skydrive HAS become a great service, with the synchronisation program and everything. I still have Mesh running though, since with the SkyDrive software I can only sync the complete SkyDrive folder, which sits in one location, and have to branch folders I want elsewhere using junctions. It works, but is slightly inconvenient when compared to Mesh. Also, SkyDrive does not support peer-to-peer synchronisation, which I use to keep my Photos (over 30GB) synchronised between my home PC and my netbook. I am slowly migrating all folders that are stored online anyway to SkyDrive, but the Photos are too large, so it's not an option for them.

I still mourn for the original Live Mesh Beta. A whole virtual desktop online. A shame they did not just merge SkyDrive into that system.

My original problem is solved though, thank you for asking.

    Thaliur,

Glad to hear that original problem is gone.

I have no problems with the modern SkyDrive. One has to change their way of thinking, but sure is a joy and a pleasure.

Now, let me see if I can find a link for you which will give you even more flexibility with SkyDrive. A couple of the regulars here have tried this extension and are well-pleased. In about 2 days, I'll be making a system image backup and then I'll try the extension myself.

Hi Karl. Not sure why you think I hijacked a link???? But somewhere I found a solution my issue here. I had more directories under C/users/default/appdata/local then were needed. The article said to delete the un-needed ones. In Event Viewer, Windows Logs, Applications there will be a Warning to fact. Google search "user profile event id 1509" for more details.
