Windows 7: What happened to Ctrl|Click in Win7?

Win 7 Pro 64 bit
Thanx for all the ideas

I learned a couple new tricks, thanx to all who responded.

I also use Ztree and PowerDesk as file managers, butusually use Windows' native file management for simple stuff. That's why I miss the Ctl|click option.

Thanx again for the alternatives.

Windows 7 Enterprise X64/Windows 10 Enterprise X64/Windows 10 Pro X64/Linux Mint

Obviously I am missing something here. I just open both windows, right click on the taskbar and select 'show windows side by side'. Are we talking about something else?

Windows Explorer is OK for ordinary file work.
IMO, it is superior to Nautilus in Ubuntu (even though that has tabs).

Why can't MS include tabs in Windows Explorer?
They have tabs in IE.

I use "FreeCommander" when I want to do special tasks (Mass Renaming).

It has:
  • A compare function.
  • An excellent mass rename tool.
  • Multi-pane and Multi-tab/pane abilities.
  • A display folder size option.

It doesn't have as many column options as Windows Explorer (Details view) though.

Ctrl-Shift-Click does NOT Run As Administrator for me
I have a Lenovo Thinkpad W530. Got it about three months ago, with Windows 7 Pro-64 installed. My issue is that the keyboard shortcut to Run As Administrator doesn't work, whether I use Ctrl-Shift-Click or Ctrl-Shift-Enter (where appropriate). Instead, the program just opens normally, with no...

Ctrl+Click to open folder in new window in Windows Explorer
Hello. I know this has been covered elsewhere before and before coming here to ask this question, I scoured Google and multiple forums and threads and I can't seem to get a straight answer. I have two PCs, one is running Windows 7 Professional x64 and the other one is running Windows 7 Professional...
My Ctrl key function became a left mouse click
For some reason, every time I press the ctrl key, the function becomes the left mouse button click. For example, when I hover the mouse on a icon and press ctrl, it opens the application. In game, when I press ctrl I fire the gun. I tried: -tried different keyboard and mouse - both USB and ps/2...

Add Mac's ctrl click to Win7?
Hey, I was wondering if you can add Mac's ctrl click feature (Which acts as a regular right click) to win7 by registry, software whatever (Registry would be ideal) I have a Synaptics Pointing Device driver if that helps, additional specs in profile.
Taskbar Functionality (CTRL+Click to multi-select/manipulate windows)
Hi, I'm six hours into Windows 7 on my new Sony Vaio, which is proving... interesting. One of the taskbar features I used with XP many times every day -- the capacity to select multiple windows in the taskbar by holding down the Control key -- is missing, and I cannot find an equivalent...

Whatever happened to the easy no-click startup?
I wonder if anyone knows how I can start my computer (either take it out of sleep mode or start it from the turned-off state) without having to click on any icons? I am not worried about anyone gaining unauthorized access to my stuff, so I want the easiest access possible for myself. It seems...
