Computer shuts down when idle (no heating issues)

    Computer shuts down when idle (no heating issues)


    After I ran the command -shutdown -r -t(time in seconds) a few days ago my computer has been shutting off (or hibernating) by itself if left idle for too long. I'm not sure how to remedy this... Did my command "stick," as it were? Under the assumption that it might have stuck, I entered in a ridiculous amount of seconds... but it still shuts down when I leave it for too long.

    I like to leave my computer open and running sometimes during the day when I'm downloading large files. I've been able to do this in the past without a problem. I have absolutely no overheating problems. I have a cooling board and everything - I know the problem isn't that.

    Can anybody help me with this problem?

    Have you Checked the power settings as it may be shutting down after specific time idle.go to control panel/power options/
    edit plan settings by selecting "choose when to put computer to sleep" and checking what is the default setting

Computer Over Heating?

What are over heating symptoms? Is there a utility to monitor temperature?
What can be the problem? I always have to logg off and power cycle my cable modem to get it running again. I have tried the power mgmt tool in Windows and BIOS.
