    Disapeared taskbar buttons

    Hi,
The problem: all the buttons from the taskbar are disappeared. I try to put them back but nothing. When I try to pin a program shortcut, appear that it is already pinned, but I can't see it. Please help.
I tried with quick launch, they apear, but when I start a program the button is not activated.

Close all unimportant windows (keeping this one open for reference, do not minimize this window at any step unless you have these steps memorized)

    Try this:

    1. Press ctrl + shift + del
    2. Go to the 'processes' tab
    3. Find explorer.exe (NOT iexplorer.exe)
    4. Press 'End Process' (Keep task manager open, if you do step one again to open it)
    5. Go to 'Applications' tab
    6. Click on 'New Task...'
    7. Type in explorer.exe and press ok

    See if that helps

Thank you again ie9, but there is the "Quick launch". I've already put the buttons like that, but when I open a program the button for that does'nt appear on the taskbar. I may know what programs I have opened only with ALT+TAB.

Thank you again ie9. I tried with that scan, but still no change. I think I have to re-install Windows.

Before doing a reinstall try a System Restore to a point where the icons were showing. Have you by chance got a system image to an earlier date when they were showing?

Thank you mitchell65, but I don't have such a point. It's a very bad situation.
