Can't find folders Hi,
Naively, I put some of our folders with documents and videos on the start menu. After doing so, we could not retrieve the folders. So I deleted them from the start menu, but now I still can't find them. Where did they go?
Thanks for helping! | My System Specs |

OK in your first post you mention delete, you may have done just that. Look in the recycle bin. If not there try this
In help and support type back up and restore
Then follow instructions how to get your documents back

hi again well, basically, I was just trying to not have so much on my desktop. So I dragged some folders over to the start menu.
When we couldn't click on them and get to the documents and videos, I deleted them from the start menu. Then I couldn't find them on the computer. They are not in the trash bin. And, they are not found when searched for.
Another problem we had...I was copying videos and pictures onto cds and dvds. After they were copied, I deleted some of the videos to the trash bin. But, then my daughters said that they wanted to use some of them still. when I restored them, some restored, but others did not....do you know why the difference? | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number emachine ET1331 OS windows 7, 64 biy CPU AMD Athlon II x2 235e Processor 2.70 GHZ Motherboard ? Apparently those were no shortcuts but the files themselves. If that is the case, once you deleted them they are gone - unless they ended up in the recycle bin.
I am still puzzled why you would drag them into the start menu. That is an odd place to put files.
You could try Recuva ( Download Recuva 1.39.509 - FileHippo.com ). Maybe you can retrieve them. But you have to know where they were last - probably on yourr desktop. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP, Dell, Gateway, Toshiba - 4 laptops and 2 desktops OS Vista, Windows7, Mint Mate, Zorin, Windows 8 CPU from 1.6GHz Duo to i7 Monitor(s) Displays 2x HP w2207 Keyboard with trackball - no mices Mouse Trackball mice Hard Drives 5x HDD, 7x SSD, 12x Externals Internet Speed DSL 6000 Can't find folders problems?
