After going through all the 7 pages of this thread, I'd suggest you to stick with XP as it served all your purposes. There's nothing to complaint if a particular feature is missing with the new OS. I doubt there could be an actual solution to your complaints.
Good luck!! | My System Specs |

Good luck!! Now, Dinesh, wouldn't it be best to help by showing him the ropes? Win 7, as you and I and many others know, and, even as Garret has admitted, is superior to XP.
Help with the transition is what he was seeking in the midst of his valid complaints and it's our job to provide such in the best way possible. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Toshiba L355D OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1 CPU Core2 Duo Motherboard Intel Memory 4 GB Graphics Card GM965 on-board Sound Card RealTek on-board Monitor(s) Displays 19"+17"(laptop) Screen Resolution 1440x900 (x 2) PSU N/A Case N/A Cooling N/A Hard Drives 500GB Ext. 200GB Internal |

Hi mikedl, the OP's issue sounds more like an attitude problem rather than just complaint.

I feel your pain garret334, altho i only felt that way about vista after moving from xp. i hated the it. I love 7 tho. by far the best yet for me. i suggest ya stick around here and just ask any time ya need something or cant find or do something on seven. there is always somebody that will know how to do it and once ya know it your sorted! will make you life a hole lot easier!
as for the docks i suggest Object Dock, one click for anything ya need and can hide off screen when not in use! Garret, I'm sure it took a lot to give such a heartfelt apology. Thank you for doing that.

Again, thanks for presenting the link. That was very kind of you to say, thank you. I think for certain subjects the videos work better than 1000 words and pictures.
I started with that technique for classes I give at my computer club. Then the attendees can recap the material in the comfort of their homes as often as they like. On top of that they get PDFs with a summary. Here is an example. Note that the attendees of those classes are mostly beginners. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP, Dell, Gateway, Toshiba - 4 laptops and 2 desktops OS Vista, Windows7, Mint Mate, Zorin, Windows 8 CPU from 1.6GHz Duo to i7 Monitor(s) Displays 2x HP w2207 Keyboard with trackball - no mices Mouse Trackball mice Hard Drives 5x HDD, 7x SSD, 12x Externals Internet Speed DSL 6000 |
