    How to delete a folder?

    I have a folder that has 25 subfolders and all folders are empty. When I try to delete them, an error appears stating that the folder contains names that are too long for the recycle bin. The next screen states that the source file name(s) are too long than is supported by the file system.

    This is annoying to say the least. I would like to remove this folder and all its subfolders. I have tried everything from changing permissions to changing attributes and even trying DOS to remove the folders; no luck!!!!

    Anyone have any ideas?

    Boot Windows 7 into safe mode and try deleting the files with the Command Prompt.
    OR

    Boot a *IX live CD and delete the folder. -WS

    Download Unlocker 1.9.0 - FileHippo.com

    That ubuntu CD, above, has worked in at least one other situation

    Hold down the <Shift> key while pressing "delete".

    If that does not work, download 7-zip;

    7-Zip

    the file manager in the program can handle long file names.
