Every couple of weeks I get a strange large file with a title that doesn't make any sense. What is this file and is it necessary to keep them?

This is the name ?? of the file. it is 35mb and that is all the info I have on it. Each of the four that I have received in the last month or so are different but have the same make-up of different character. there isn't any extension.

It's Windows Update droppings....yes, you can delete them. You may need to use something like "unlocker" to actually get them to go away. I do it all the time.

Thanks for the info. I did delete them. I found the file was MTR.exe. I ran the file and it took 1hr 20 mins to run. It found one file that it apparently deleted for me.
