I've seen it in every windows inner-built progress bar , file transfers, IE downloads etc from the first day...Don't remember if I even saw it in an installation progress bar.

Doesn't work for FF3 for me neither, only for Win Explorer and Internet Explorer.

As for installs, install something from Windows Update....

And not surprising that it does not work for non Win7 stuff - this is new, my Fx currently does it on tabs when loading tabs and in the taskbar, and does DLs in the taskbar....
