    Very strange windows 7 error


    so after a failed attempt to restart the system, i held the power botton on the tower for 5 sec and it turned off.


    now the system constantly gets stuck on programs.
    cant index correct(directories)

    for example, if i want to open cpu-z, it gets stuck at the 3rd bar
    if i want to open "Computer" it gets stuck and only shows the box
    it cant even index C drive or open the optical drive!

    this is crazy!

    Hi, falze, and welcome to the forums.

    Have you attempted to perform a repair from the W7 DVD?

    It sounds like there was corruption at the time of your forced restart, and it could very well have hosed critical system files...

    see System Recovery Options for instructions to boot to the Repair and Recovery options from the DVD.

    There are also links to other tutorials with various options, such as running a startup repair, a System restore, etc. - read those carefully.
