Just one more thing to add to OP: Please read those articles and threads I linked to in the post above. Using the hack Mike told you, you most probably lose the validation of your Windows 7, making it "non-genuine".

With a little research on the Internet you can easily find out that the solution offered is illegal, and only legal option is to upgrade to Ultimate, or check if that legal trick Whs told works for you.

You just don't know when to give it a rest do you?

Had you "voiced an opinion", and pointed out that the software is possibly illegal, then I would simply have deleted the post. But like many other self-styled internet policemen, you run off at half cock, accusing and denigrating people. I was not aware that this software might be considered illegal, or that it might damage a genuine windows copy.

Unlike you, and many others, I post under my own name, and in good faith. There are very many people in the industry who know me, and I simply can not afford to even be accused of malpractice in any form.

I would thank you to desist from any further references to "hacks" and similar rubbish in connection with my name.

Mike, for the first Kari is the name my parents gave me, so it really is my real name:

Secondly, my tone was precisely because I've learned to know you as a very decent member and could not believe you provided this kind of link to OP; I was confused as to why on earth you provide a link to an illegal hack which most probably causes OP to get a non-genuine Windows message.

I couldn't even think you had not checked the validity of your tip.

I am not an Internet police. I am against piracy, and against giving members non-valid information which can cause more serious issues than the original issue ever was.

Hi Kari and Mike, as one of the oldest members (in age) of this forum I take the liberty to ask you to stop the war of words. I do not want to be judge in the dispute, but I think it is not a reason to fall out with each other. Enough words have been said and it would be nice if we could get back "on topic". Thanks, Wolfgang

:) Of course, Wolfgang. I felt it was important to tell that using these language pack hacks causes that Windows no longer passes validity check. That said, I have nothing more to add.

You don't know me at all, and quite apart from that, anybody can make a mistake. One of the major problems with this and similar forums is that people like you turn them into minefields. This stops even sensible and knowledgeable people posting, because they know they will eventually fall afoul of somebody like you.

You might know everything, but I don't.

I did not check the "validity" of that "tip" because I did not even begin to suspect that it might be illegal. I have no need of such "tips", as all my various PERSONAL Windows copies ( thirty four at the last count) are legal and fully paid for. Over the years I have installed thousands of systems, in hundreds of variations, all legal, but I STILL don't know everything, and I never will.

Congratulations that you do know everything, I am sure it will increase your "rep". Maybe you can also turn water into wine? I am sure you will be able to if you work at it.

You would do well to remember that it is not always what one writes that causes problems, but how one writes it. But of course you knew that as well I suppose? Unfortunate that you did not apply it.

As I already wrote, I have no interest whatsoever in wasting my time on such nonsense. The software is possibly illegal, post deleted. That's all.

If you want to continue such discussions then you will have to find some idiot who is prepared to do it.

I wont answer you again, regardless of what you write, and I wont post to this board again either, because I don't like to be treated in such a fashion.

Doubtless omniscience is a terrible burden.

    Goodbye....

I'm sorry you feel I was not entitled to voice my opinion, especially sorry if my opinion is for you a reason to quit SF. I do not take my words back, I really meant every word: any use of cracks to get software or even a feature against the EULA is piracy. I'm a tight a** regarding this subject, I know it, but I see no reason to change my attitude.

Windows 7 Ultimate offers language packs as an additional feature. You pay a bit more, you get a bit more.

    Not your fault.

In view of your post I felt obliged to reply once again.

As a result of the various articles about that software that I have in the meantime read and researched, I would not advise you to use it. It will invalidate your Windows copy. I did not know this when I posted the tip, which was actually given to me by somebody else. I have not used it myself because I don't need it. ( I mainly run Win 7 Ultimate on my personal machines). There are possibly other ways to get what you want legally, and doubtless somebody else will advise you on that.

My apologies if I misled you, it was not deliberate.

    Regards....Mike Connor

    Mike,

No point in leaving the forum over a disagreement with one user. The 'Ignore' function is available for exactly this reason. A few clicks and your problem is solved.
