Same here. Its all part of Live Essentials so I think there is some reg setting or variable that is set wrong.

I've long forgotten about batch files and although I searched I couldn't come up with any that would suit but it shouldn't be that difficult for someone *cough* to come up with one ??

If you can't wait I found a free little program that searches for and deletes empty folders -

Remove Empty Directories - Freeware for Windows

I use the admin one - not sure if the other one will do the job but I run as admin with no UAC (tut,tut).

Type the folder C:\Users\xxxx\AppData\Local into the directory to scan and then go to Settings, choose the Delete Mode, I do it directly, then to advanced settings and choose max nesting depth=2, then go back and scan. Any other folders other than the {xxxxxxxxxxxxx} ones add these to the box on the right in Settings and scan again. Only the {xxx} folders should appear in red and can be deleted. Works fine for me. It saves the settings on exit too. I think two of these folders are created every time Windows Live Mail is accessed.

Hope this is of some use.

Those folders are created by windows live something, messenger or mail i believe, completely safe to delete.

If they're not causing you a problem, don't delete them. Simple :)
