For my taste this disc burning feature of Windows 7 is too automated. These messages about files ready to be burned on disc pop up at strange moments and I am not entirely certain how does the OS decide that there are files to be burned. I decided upon a simpler solution - I disabled the whole feature altogether. I use Nero for burning, I can start it up whenever I need to burn a disc (which is about once a month or even less often) and then it's off and does not bother me. At the same time the burn quality is excellent (apart from the double-layer discs but that's a different issue).

I hear you, but I burn a lot of disks and I love being able to do it in Windows.
