I'm waiting for an official release and then see it pop up as a Windows Update to be installed.

Let them finish debugging and crashing. If it works like the new MSE update last week I'll definitely wait.

From what I'm reading from Technet, it's not a priority to get it out to the public. SP1 for Windows 7 isn't nearly as critical/major as it was for any other previous OS. Normally I'd suspect 1 to 2 months before it's available through Windows Update.

Well at least it will be out before Windows 8 it would appear. Due in 2013.

The "good stuff" is really nothing more than a collection of updates which you really would already have if you ran Windows Update regularly. I'm not aware of their being any performance improvements or new functionality for Windows 7 being included with this service pack. I'm sure somebody will correct me if I am wrong on that.

yep, it works great, and since it's RTM, it will be similar to the future official release, so there's no bugs in it to correct anymore, it's a done deal

Yea,just burst my guts laughing! That was a real good one! Keep it up sir!

As my professor of medicine was fond of saying" let the froth of new knowledge settle, before we down the chemical-free beer from Germany"! You would be thinking"all in good time"!
