    Deleting history

I use "history" to revisit a session but someone has started deleting it all the time, there are several in the house using the computer. Is there any way I can "lock" or make it inaccessible by any chance?

Can one disable the Ctrl/Shift/Del function???

i would also like to know this now that ya say it or if i can be done. one of me mates keeps goin in to me room and using me computer when im out. i just use the history to see what he has been at. then just block the sites i dont want him on. (he dont know what hes at at only a matter of time before he gets a virus)

i dont want to have to go to change me password for that shit head either.

you could just set up different profiles on the pc so you will all have your own history, bookmarks and everything else.

here is a tut! its not mine its just off the fourm!

You need to create a password protected user account which only you can access. This way all the settings you make, favorites, browser history and so on stay as you wish.

If you all are using the same user account, there's not much what you can do; each setting you make, another user can change.

    Hi cheddarcaveman,

Set the following option in gpedit.msc to Enabled (remember that you need to run gpedit.msc as elevated - right-click and select Run as administrator).

I don't know if it works with FF as I use IE. To find gpedit.msc, click on and type gpedit.msc into the earch box. Note that you need to type the extension as well.

Ill give it a go later!

Ill post in here if it works with FF!

Maybe it just detects your default browser! Could be why IE showed up in yours!

Thanks. Please do let us know. I don't have FF installed, so that is probably why it doesn't show up.

Many thanks. I'm also using FF so wait with baited breath!!!

Just back and have tried typing "gpedit.msc" in the "RUN" line on the start button and just get an error "Windows cannot find it"???

Oh and I don't want separate logins as I also want to find out why they are deleting the history, what's in it they don't want me (others) to see!
