I have to Refresh Desktop to see download files

Ok so recently Im now having a problem with saving files. When I download a file and save it to my desktop, I have to refresh the page each time for my download to be visible.. It just seems to be affected with downloading from the internet. If I save a file using paintshop or a regular text file it shows up as soon as I save it..

Please Help!!

Havent done anything, and I have my windows updates turned off..

Why? That isn't a wise strategy.

Some browers have malware scanners in them that may make them invisible right after the desktop refreshes....

I've never heard of anything like that. Can you name the browser and provide something that backs it up?

I had just clean installed Win 7 64-bit on my PC & was experiencing similar issues until I was advised by Win 7 Forum members to upgrade my graphic card; even though Win 7 upgrade advisory software said the old card was compatible. This fixed the issue completely.
