    Hello Carl,

This can help show you how to create a internet website shortcut like that.

Shawn's tutorial may be where you are going. But one easy way is to open the webpage from the link. Right click an empty space on the web page and, in the drop down menu, select "create shortcut". Select this and "yes" and there you have your shortcut. You can then rename it to something you fancy.

The problem with this is that when I right click, then new, then shortcut, absolutely nothing happens.

It is the WEBPAGE you should right click - not the desktop (or what?). There is no "New" on the web page

If the above solutions don't work, then try this-
You'd be having a shortcut to the browser on your desktop, no?
Right click on it> properties, in the target field, after the program's executable put a space and then the site which you want a shortcut to.
    Apply>Ok.
Opening that shortcut now will open the site you wanted.

Download and merge the lnk (LNK) option in the tutorial below, and restart the computer.

Default File Type Associations - Restore

Afterwards, see if when you right clicking on the desktop, New, and Shortcut will it work for you now.

If so, then you should be able to use the tutorial I posted above to create a internet shortcut like you wanted.

    Hope this helps,

As was said before, you have o literally right click on the webpages to get the option to create a shortcut. Do not try to create on by clicking on the desktop :)
