    I am going to get more than 7.7 Gb flash drive and definitely inform you guys about my progress..
    I am wondering why my external drive is not supported for this creation...!!!!!! It has 320gb free space...

    I got the 8 Gb flash drive from Staple ..and i was excited to create the recovery flash drive. But it shows 7.45 gb flash drive...i m supposed to have more than 7.7 USB flash drive...
    how much GB flash drive i need to buy???

    Now i successfully created recovery disc in 16Gb Flash drive.
    now How can i proceed further...I want to reinstall "trial" in my new notebook.....I want to make sure and check my flash drive works perfectly whenever required.

    I'd save a Win7 backup of the entire HD on external in case Recovery fails.
    Backup Complete Computer - Create an Image Backup
    System Image Recovery

    Remember that running the actual Recovery Partition using the hotkey at boot is a more stable way to run Recovery. The disks are best used as a backup if the HD or Recovery Partition fail.

    But I can understand why you want to try the USB installer.

    Theog's idea to use another HD for your test is best, unplugging the existing HD so that it doesn't interfere.

    In my notebook i have nothing...i don't think i need back up. but i want to reboot with my new flash drive...
