Opening encrypted .uea files from Windows Vista

I have been running Windows Vista Home Premium for two years. This was getting very slow so I have just re-formatted my hard drives and have installed Windows 7 Ultimate. This is running much better but I cannot open the encrypted .uea files which I had protected on Vista. I have fixed all issues on my registry using Uniblue Registry Booster but still I am unable to open them. Please can anyone help?

.UEA files are used my ProtectorSuite QL and is only unlock-able by fingerprint or password backup that was created from the file. Without either, you are out of luck.

And PS: "Registry boosters" don't work. In fact they are more likely to cause harm then good.

Thanks for that, Jonathan,
In fact, I have the opening file in Norton 360 backup but don't know how to open it since I am in a new OS and don't want to restore all my Vista data.
Any suggestions. I'd be very grateful.

Open the file in whatever you created it with. That's really all you can do.
