    Unable to Delete/Move Some Files


    hi i am using windows 7 ultimate 64 bit my problem is i have got sum files from my friend through portable disk when i try to move it to another folder or delete that file is says 'the action cant be completed because the file is open in windows explorer' one file is video song and other is movie both are mkv formats, same problem is happened with my portable disk but that file got deleted from my friends computer. can anyone pls tell me wat is that problem.

    Hello Edward,

    There are many ways to approach that problem. You can try them one by one.

    1) Try moving deleting via the command prompt. Click on Start orb, type cmd, then double click on the result. Navigate to the directory where the file is located and use the del command to delete or copy command to copy it to a different place.

    2) Try moving/deleting in safe mode. To get into safe mode you need to tap F8 repeatedly at boot.

    2) You can use 3rd party tools like Unlocker or Lockhunter to unlock the files, then try moving/deleting.
