Start Menu Application List not always update, why?

The list now is full of application shortcuts.
When I open a new application that is not on the list, the shortcut of the app may or may not appear on the list, does anyone know why?

Hello there, you probably have the options on the Start Menu to not show the recently opened programs and apps.

    I just opened an application.
Then check the start menu again, it appears on the menu and replace the second bottom shortcut.

But sometimes, an application that just opened, might not appear on the menu and when i manually delete the shortcut one by one , I could see it come up at the bottom.

Okay, let's do some trial and error here.

    1) Uncheck the 2nd option.

    2) Go to "Customize" on that same window and click "Restore Defaults"

    3) Change manually the numbers on that lists, set it on 5 and go up from there, after some tests.
