Aaargh, this morning I lost my Administrator Account

    Hello,
I am running W7 Ulitmate 64-bit with a quasi-Administrator account and 2 standard User Accounts. This morning I booted up and decided to go to the Administrator account to do some house cleaning. It took the password and then stated it was preparing a desktop. It came up with the standard new user desktop, not my personalized one, and said this was a Temporary Account and does not have the privileges of the quasi-Administrator. Everything was fine last night, as I recall.
Please assist. Appreciate this as this seems to me desperate. As a User, I could see that some Admin account stuff was still there, I think.
    Thanks to all.

    Hello Glennc,

This may be able to help you fix this temp user profile error.

Howdy for the assistance, Gentlemen, So far nothing worked. I know in safe mode it came up with the safe mode version of the Admin Account that won't come up regularly. In registry, I found several temp versions and the original. On the one that had the name and the correct path, I tried everything and finally deleted it. W7 keeps coming up settting up Temp account on my original Admin account. Created second Admin account and am trying to copy everthing from the original to it, prior to deleting the still visible in the Contol Panel > Users Account and it and it's password works in plain User Account to make changes that require a Admin password. Now the pop-up shows both the new Admin and the broken Admin accounts and either work.
Hard to type with fingers crossed. Hope I am going down the correct path.

    Glennc,

If you have a restore point available dated before you had this error, then it may be easier to do a system restore at boot using that restore point to try and fix this instead.

    Hello Brink,
Yes that is what I've been doing a large part of today. Got almost everthing back, Administrator account was fine, now updating and rearranging for next system image.
Thanks You and the other Gentlemen on the forum,
