Advice on 2 entries of explorer.exe in autoruns

    hi guys,
i have this query in sysinternals autoruns, while i was looking this morning i noticed i have two entries for explorer.exe in my bry user account.? (as in the snapshot) i have disabled one of them(in user bry account) and rebooted and programs started up as normal. i looked in my separate user admin account and there is only one entry. just need advice please.

Could be a duplicate entry, have u tried deleting it? By any chance do you've any startup program which needs to run a x64 instance of explorer.exe ?

I just noticed, in my case, there's no listing of explorer.exe even, what would you say about that?

have you checked this with sysinternals autoruns program? and do you have hidden files and folders enabled? im sure it should be in autoruns how else does it start automatic in services maybe ? no entry in services on my system just looked.

Oh, Thanks. The 'Hide windows entries' was ticked. Unticked, it appeared.

Coming back to your question, as I asked earlier have you tried deleting the duplicate entry? Or any start-up program invoking another instance of explorer.exe?

yes i have deleted it rebooted and everything ok with start up so maybe it was just a glitch with autostart management on my part, i use winpatrol ( BillP Studios - WinPatrol ) to control startup so i can step programs at different times and i notice the entry has gone in there now which is not a problem as it has started ok on reboot. sorry i forgot i did not tick display secret startup locations it is showing.

WinPatrol has had been glitchy for me regarding startup management. I prefer Soluto.
