There was a problem sending command to the program

Hy, i seem to get this error a lot of times when i open a file by clicking on it. I know it happens for for bsplayer (when i click a movie) and firefox (for pages saved on my desktop) and at one point i think it gave me this error for word too but now it seems fine.
I don't get this error for winamp (songs), powerpoint presentations, .pdf's, wordpad/notepad, pictures, torrents and archives.
Also everytime i get this error the file opens with no problem, it's just the error that's annoying. And if i open the program first (ex. bsplayer) then click the file the error doesn't appear.
I've also looked over the internet and found out something about some dde in the registries and i looked over and found that bsplayer does have ddeexec enabled at .avi extension and firefox has it for .html.
My question is: how do i disable this dde thing without editing lines in the registry cuz first i don't feel comfortable altering registries and then there are a lot of file types to modify and it's practically impossible.

    nvidia 250gts
    4 gb ram
intel core 2 quad 2.4 ghz

Note: I also saw something about zone alarm and some firewall clients: i don't have anything to do with that kind o' stuff, i just have nod32 and the windows firewall activated.

Err, yeah, it didn't work, but my problem doesn't have anything to do with browsers :-/ . It's just something related to programs opening specific files and giving a useless error while doing that.

    DDE options in office

    1. I found another post with this advice which worked for me
    2. In Excel - go to Excel Options
    3. Click the advanced tab on the left of the options screen
    4. Under the general options uncheck the box "Ignore other application that use Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE)"
