Windows 7: Disabling taskbar thumbnails (previews) in Windows 7

After playing around with the operating system I found that I don't like the thumbnail (previews) from the taskbar. Is there a way to disable this in Windows 7?

Just do it the same way as the tutorial, threw gpedit.msc. Enable it, click ok or apply and restart.

Or, if you don't want to restart..right click on the task bar and click on task manager, go to the process tab, select explorer.exe and end process. Then to restart it, click file on the task manager menu bar, new task-explorer.exe-OK. And it will work after that instead of restarting the computer.

Hmm it removed the thumbnail preview but I wonder why they removed it from the start menu properties... oh well.

The underlying problem I was trying to get at is whenever I have multiple tabs in IE open and click on the IE icon on the taskbar it will just go to the program with out me having to select the tab from the taskbar thumbnail. (I hope you understand, kind of hard to explain)

Yeah your supposed to hover the tab and click the preview itself...

Yeah, and they probably took it out of the properties for whatever reason, or they may put it in the final.
