    2 Problems

When I try to read my XD memory card from drive Q, I am told "Access is barred" Why is this and how can I take the bar off please.

Likewise, I am told I do not have authority to copy files to my external hard drive (J), contact the Administrator. I am the Administrator and it's my computer too, Cheek!!! Mind you, iI used to use it with Windows XP 32 bit and I wondered if that made any difference. Do I need to pugrade the drive to a 64 bit one? Any clues as to what I should do please?

    Regards,

Ron I suspect you imported the drive from another OS (XP) the user that owned it there (even if it is the same named user ) is different.

You need to take ownership. Check the tutorials here to find instructions under "take ownership"
