What do you want in the RTM?

MS will most likely pump out some last-minute tweaks and features in the RTM of W7. What do you think they could be?

    1. Centering of the Taskbar icons, similar to Mac OS X's dock.
    2. The ability to remove the blur effect from Aero windows, and make them truly transparent.
    3. "Gaming Mode", which kills every unnecessary process when a game is launched.

Uhm... I am not completely sure that you get this whole process of alpha builds, then a beta, then a release candidate and then going RTM.... Microsoft does all of that to test every single feature to high heaven with as many users as possible. So I highly doubt there are going to be ANY new features in the RTM version. (haven't MS stated this when they said before that a beta build was feature complete?)

The only thing there might be a very slight chance of is a UI tweak or something like that. But certainly no new features.

Having said that, I would hate to have the icons in the centre of the taskbar.... that would confuse most people and it would (in my opinion) take away the previous and still main function of the taskbar: seeing which programs you have active and enabling you to switch between them quickly.

as for you gaming mode idea.... if you have many unnecessary processes running, then you're doing something wrong.... Your goal should be to have only the necessary processes running to begin with.

You can set these (except two) now.
For one, just unlock the task bar and move the icons to the middle.
For three, just open Task Manager and shut down stuff.

You can do this too. Just set it to Auto-Hide.

Can not move the icons to the middle. They go back to the left.

You can just add a blank toolbar to the left and that will allow you to position the icons to the center.
