    partition C Drive

    Hi,

I purchased a new laptop with Windows 7 OS. Its C drive is having 450Gb. When checked through storage management, C drive shows 94% as free. So i thought of partitioning it . But when i try to shrink C and make unallocated space, it is showing only 224GB as free....why such an abnormaliy...How can i partition this C ?

    Thanks in advance..

    Regards,

Just open Disk Management (type in Start Search box), maximize its window.

Then open Snipping Tool in Start Menu, draw a rectangular box around the full Disk Mgmt drive map with all listings, save the File.

Then attach the file using paper clip in reply box.

Meanwhile try running free CCleaner followed by Puran Defragger to see if it will allow more shrinkage of C.

    HI,

My OS got corrupted while i try to do partitioning with partition magic ( the partition magic i used was for XP..). The error was that partition table got corrupted. So i recovered OS from Recovery disk and upon checking, it showed shrinkage space available is 425GB...So now i can do partition by shrinking..

    Thanks for all support..

Partition Magic is not supported for Win7 at all. Use free Partition Wizard bootable CD.
