I had noticed the same issue in W7 RC1 (not sure if they've fixed it in the final), if you open a command prompt window and type dir in the root of your user folder, you'll notice that the physical folders themselves are named correctly. Thus, only the alias appears to be wrong. All I had to do was pretty much rename them within explorer using F2, and that fixed it.

Since this didn't work for you, try enabling hidden files and editing Desktop.ini in each of the folders.

    Hope this helps

Hi SevenSeas, welcome to the forums.

There are certain folders that have 'My' as a prefix. There's not (as far as i know) any way to change that as with Windows 7 it uses the library option. You will still have My 'Videos/Pictures/Music' but MS has tried to limit the visibility within the 'Library' folder.

This will allow you to view ALL videos/music/pictures so long as they have been included in each seperate library...

Hope this answers some of your questions..

You can right click/rename the "My Documents" in the navigation pane of the library as well.

Could you not rename the Shell in the registry?

Thks for the replies people... Problem solved. It was just the stupid me...I apparently hadn't tried to rename the folders in explorer. I renamed it with a different file manager which renamed the actual folder...To rename the alias I just had to rename the personal folders in explorer....Sorry,,,apologies...
    I'm glad it's solved now..
