Windows 7: Error 1606" error message need help D:

So I looked through the web and tried Microsoft's solution
You receive an "Error 1606" error message when you try to install or remove a Microsoft program

tried both options.
I installed the Microsoft fix it - a few seconds later said it was finished proccessing.. I didn't see any steps besides 3 icons.

Manually tried to look for the error - regedit
but all the codes matched.

So what's my next option? who else has had this problem?
I can download games and such but I can't download the adobe after effects demo or adobe reader 10 (latest version) Of course it's not only adobe products I can't install..

Also I was considering system restore point but I haven't made one in a while so that option is useless.
I really don't want to have to reset my computer back to factory settings.
Anyone know about talking with Microsoft tech people- having them look at your computer?
