    Task Scheduler Error

    Hi guys,

I use windows 7 task scheduler to run my tasks. The scheduling part seems to work fine, however, when I click on "Display All Running Tasks", I get a message "The Task Image Is Corrupt Or Has Been Tampered With".

Under the task status section where it displays tasks run in the last 24 hours, nothing appears for me. Yet I know tasks have been run.

I ran disk check and file checker and all is well. I don't have any restore points dating back far enough to fix this problem.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

    Dear Pennjersey83,
    Two points here.

    1) what specific event made you check the working of the Task scheduler?

and 2) I am worried more about the path, right thru' the heart of the OS, win/system32 and the error message!

Kindly run the anti malware and the A-V you have installed to run and come with the results! I would recommend SAS portable scanner as it needs no updates and can be run straight away and for AV--> Housecall. I am giving the links below

    SUPERAntiSpyware.com - SUPERAntiSpyware Portable Scanner

HouseCall - Free Online Virus Scan - Trend Micro USA

    Thanks for your reply DR.Sreedhav.

    To answer your questions,

    1) I have a disk cleaner utility called CCleaner and I used windows task scheduler to create a daily CCleaner cleanup session.

    2) I've run Avast and Windows Defender and neither have showed any suspicious behavior. Avast has always been very good at bringing any problems to my attention.

My computer seems to be running smoothly with no problems. However, task scheduler will not display "running tasks" even though I know they are running. Even the tasks themselves say they were completed successfully at their scheduled time. Its just that whenever I click on "Display All Running Tasks" nothing appears and it says "The Task Image Is Corrupt Or Has Been Tampered With"

Thanks for the link. But I think I'm gonna just deal with not being able to see task history. I don't want to mess around too much with my system.
