login problem

Hello, I recently cleaned my hard disk of some malware i had. So i restarted my computer and windows 7 starts up but the login does not appear only the background appears.

like so:


i do have a recovery disk and access to the cmd. i tried the start up repair but nothing. it tried sfc /scannow but a message keeps appearing that i need to restart my computer since there is a repair in progress or something...i do but the same message comes up

Ive tried safe mode but same thing
I posted this in bsod crash anaylsis thread and i apologize for the double post but i just need help. can a mod just delete the other thread. thanks

What was the malware and how did you clean it?

it was a bunch of malware. I dont know how it got there. I recenty rma'd some bad ram and when i got the new set of ram my av was turned off and i assume during that time my computer got infected.

I deleted the malware by putting the harddrive as a slave and running malwarebytes.

Windows version 5.2 is in fact Windows NT.

I would seriously advise 1 of the below options

1, Repair Install
2, Clean Install Windows 7
