    Dissapearing .exe

Okay, so when I download some .exe files, they show up as they are downloading but the second the download is finished, they dissapear. Anyone have any ideas or fixes for this? So far, I'm only seeing this happen with some .exe files.

The first that comes to my mind is your anti-virus. I would disable it then retry the download. If the file stays there, then, you can blame your anti-virus. I don't think this is a problem with Win7...

It is possible that your AV program quarantines them. Could those be .exes that are virus infected?

LOL, Lebon had the same idea 2 seconds earlier. But I would still be careful. They may spell trouble.

I probably should have mentioned that I already disabled my AV, then retried the download, then uninstalled the AV and retried the download as well. I don't think the AV isn't the culprit here. The .exe I was trying to download is called "Connectify" and it downloaded fine on my other computer. I just wanna know why its not working on this one. Both computers using Windows 7.

Where are you downloading to? Maybe try a different location?

Boot to Safe Mode with Networking and try it. If that works then something is running that is causing the problem. Then you could use msconfig to disable startup tasks and non-MS services until you find the problem.

I've read about this issue with AVG, so if you have AVG try uninstalling and cleaning it completely. Also, try downloading with a different browser.
