Aero preview stops working after sleep

    Hello all,

I have a recurring issue that drives me nuts to no end: Everytime I put my computer to sleep (I'm 99.5% sure this is the cause), Aero preview crashes, and prevents me from switching to an application with more than one window open (that is, using the taskbar). I have to kill and relaunch explorer to bring it back, but as I shut my laptop lid often, this is hardly ideal.

Does anyone know how I could go about fixing this? I've run the built-in trouble shooter, to no avail.

Any ideas or tips are welcome.

    Regards.

Update your display driver, or uninstall the existing one in Device manager and restart to reinstall it.

Did that, to no avail. Still can't use Aero preview.

Is this a clean install of Win7, or an inferior in-place Upgrade or factory preinstall?

Do you have a Win7 DVD to run a Repair Install or to re-install windows 7?

It's a crappy OEM install that I cleaned up.

You've blown my mind, I didn't know this was possible in windows 7. I'll try this soon. Thanks for the info!
