    White rectangle over desktop icons


    Hi all,
    I tried to install the Vista Shortcut manager and the install did not finish. Now all of the desktop icons have a white rectangle on top of the icon. I cannot rid the white rectangle. I have tried deleting the iconcache file to rebuild the icons but not successful.

    It is a new HP touchsmart 310 computer. This is driving me crazy.

    Try searching for all files created when you did the failed install and removing them.

White box/rectangle top left desktop

Hello everyone, Yesterday some white rectangle showed up on the top/left of my screen: http://i48.tinypic.com/2ir9f6b.png This is what it looks like. It appears like ~1min after startup and it doesn't happen all the time, sometimes.. I rebooted alot yesterday. It happens with none, 1 or more...
I set up my dual monitors and so far loving it. Only problem is setting up wallpapers and this white rectangle in the top right hand corner of my monitor (The second monitor I hooked up) I can't right click on it or anything and when I restart the computer when it powers down the white rectangle...

I know I have seen a way to remove this here on the Forum somwhere. If I remember it was related to the arrows that appear on icons but for the life of me I can't find it. I have gone all through Brink's tuts to no avail. Anyone remember where the solution is please? Here's what I mean:
