With 'only' 2,25GB RAM installed, I'd say go for the x86 one.

from one point of view, with under 4gb Ram x86 is easier because the most application are in 32bit, and there are not many application or games that are optimized for the 64bit.

from the other point of view, 64bit is the future, more and more application will in the future work better with 64bit, an good example is for the moment WinRAR 3.90 beta wich exist as 64bit version.

I personnaly will only install 64bit operation system (Windows and Linux) only because I will go forward and don't keep staying on the same place.

each has its advanteges. 64 is faster, 32 easier to get drivers for and uses less memory.
    Can you machine run 64?

Me I would upgrade to 7260. It has pretty much all of the fixes Ms is going to make, and why go from 7100, to 7127,7132,7201,7260. That would make me crazy. As anyone on SF can tell you there are upgrade junkies and Im one of them, but.
