Is there anyway to remove the file type at the end of the name?

It looks like this

Hi raboragaroo welcome to SevenForums

to hide file extensions:

File Extensions - Hide or Show

Open any folder,
press the Alt key, then click Tools>Options
click the view tab
check the box that says "hide extensions for known file types"
