    Can you explain what you mean here? Is it write protected by software, is it built into the hardware (Like an IronKey UFD) or what?

    I had the same issue trying to format one into a bootable drive. I went into properties and selected to share the drive and then it removed the protection. Hope this helps.

    How to remove write protection from an Attache 2GB flash? It has no switch.

    This flash served as a Ready Boost in Vista. When I upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate, it stopped working. Somehow it got write protected.
    I cannot us Bitlocker to remove the protection , because my computer does not have the Trusted Platform Module Security Device.
    All other efforts to remove the protection, like disk management, failed.
    Any suggestion? Please
