there is a folder named SWsetup in C:/SWsetup located in it all programs and drivers
I have hidden and system files showing and I have no SWsetup directory on my machine.

I did a clean install of win 7, no upgrade or dual boot with Vista.

Did you get your caps lock/num lock and scroll lock lights working with win 7?

    Thanks

    Oops.......I found the swsetup folder.
I checked all of the SP folders and there's nothing related the caps lock, num lock or scroll lock lights.

This is the folder located in C: root to which the drivers downloaded from HP webpage unzip, worth backing up after everything's installed.

It depends on whether the original drivers unzipped to SWSetup were of the same bit-version, or contain both.

You can try running the Setup .exe for the driver from within its sub-folder, or browsing there from Device Manager driver>Update Driver tab. If it doesn't install or pick up the driver, go to the HP Support Downloads webpage for the exact model to download and install the correct driver, which will also unzip to SWSetup.

i have win vista which came with the laptop and it is 32-bit and the SWsetup folder still in C i didn't remove it and i want to install win 7 ultimate but i don't know which should i install 32 or 64 bit in order to be sure that the drivers in SWsetup will work or not

You should determine which bit-version to install based on specs of the machine:
32 bit vs 64 bit Comparison - Windows 7 Forums
64-bit More than just the RAM bit-tech.net

The Win7 installer is mostly driver-complete, with newer arriving quickly via optional Windows Updates. Any drivers then missing can be found on the Support Downloads webpage for that model computer or Device.

I would save SWSetup folder as a backup to use only after exhausting the first options.

I would also not change out any drivers given by installer or optional Updates unless performance problems are verified to be caused by them.
