On July 13th, MS will release the RTM for Windows 7. We all know that speed, stability, and overall performance will be be better than the RC and its subsequent builds, but what do you think MS is hiding from us? Surely they have to add SOME new things...even if it's as minor as a simple tweak, like the changed Orb found in 7057/7100. Also, keep in mind that MS has a conference around the time of the RTM release, so maybe they'll announce something? Here's what I think:
- A GUI Change. Paul T. said that MS would introduce a new GUI, or at least a tweaked GUI in the RTM. What could possibly be in it? I think that the Start Menu is ripe for change. Perhaps the icons on the taskbar could be centered, akin to Mac OS X? I also predict possibly more semi-transparent effects/menus.
- More keyboard shortcuts. Pressing an F# key to bring up Gadgets would be nice, as well as Win+T for the Task Manager would be convenient.
- The return of DreamScenes, but renamed simply "Animated Desktop". Another possibility could be an interactive desktop.
