Login Issues With New OS

Just installed windows 7 on my Acer Aspire before I left home However I dont believe I ever enabled the password protection on it as the HD is Empty and I have as yet to put any info on it. Last Night I was on all night this morning I cannot login because the password is enabled how do I boot either in safe or bypassing and is this a problem I have to look forward to?

Are you talking about a Windows login password? If it's asking for one, then you set it. It won't just magically start asking if you never had one. You'd have to use a special type of boot disk (Google for it) to remove or change the password. Safe mode won't help.

Hi Ckrayman and welcome to the Forum. To get into Safe Mode, reboot your system and as soon as it gets to the Acer splash screen, start tapping on the F8 key. This should bring up a Menu with boot choises including Safe Mode. At that point you should be able to log on as Administrator. Once in, go to Control Panel, Users, and set your password to blank for now. Reboot and see if you can now login with your norman ID. Hope this helps.

If you can't log in to normal mode, you can't log in to safe mode. That would defeat the entire purpose of having a password. If he hasn't enabled the Admin account, which he probably hasn't, that won't be available either.

I had the same issue on my desktop shortly after installing W7. During set up I did not create a password. I left everything blank at the password prompt and continued with the install. A few days later when booting up and logging on, a screen popped up wanting a user name and password. I simply left everything blank (as I did during the set up), clicked the blue arrow to continue, and it went right to my admin account. It hasn't asked for a password since.

I am probably going to have to wait till I get home and completely re-install I tried just hitting enter and it says my account was closed by the Administrator???? My "Tech Guy" thinks maybe I was hacked at the hotel I am staying at or I had a bad install.

That isn't a message from Windows. Can you give the EXACT wording of the message?
