Windows 7: XP Mode

XP Mode

I have Windows 7 Pro on my computer along with the XP Mode installed. I installed (under Windows 7) my Office 97 (which should be run under XP Mode as well, but works fine running in 64 bit, so I'm going to leave it). My question is I have a program under XP Mode that requires Access. If I install Access will it install to the same directory as the Access is under 64 Bit? If so, then how can I tell this program to go to Access under 64 Bit? Thanks.

Anything you install on XP Mode is installed on the Xp Mode vhd, not on your host system (Windows 7). You can continue using Office on Seven as before, and install and use complete Office or just Access on XP Mode as well. You can even run Access on Seven and XP Mode at the same time, both not even knowing the "sister", other Access is also running.

You can not. If an other application on XP Mode needs Access, you must install Access on XP Mode. XP Mode can in no circumstances use applications installed on your host system.

Think XP Mode as any other individual computer. That's what it is; a virtual machine behaves like any other machine on your network, whether real physical one or virtual.

If you want to run an application on any computer, it must be installed there. In this case, Access must be installed on your XP machine (XP Mode).
