Applications can not launch other applications
After successfully removing a virus from my system I noticed something unusual going on. Applications could not launch other apps. For example, when I launch Firefox, Firefox can not then launch the flashgot applications. Another example is when I launch something like the Dragon Age II launcher I then can not launch either the config program or the game from there.
The big headache though is Total Commander, it can not launch any other exe, or msi files. It simply returns a error, code 5. As I use Total Commander about 90% of the time this is very irritating. One odd thing is that I can launch avi or mov players from within Total commander. This causes me to think that somehow my applications are not inheriting the ability to launch other applications.
I can launch programs from windows explorer without issue.
Anybody have any ideas?
