Hard Disk Partition question

Hi friends
I read this tutorial
Partition or Volume - Shrink
Now, i have 1 HARD DISK 220G which divided to 2 NTFS Partition:
-C (physical drive where windows installed) Partition 100G
-D -an empty Partition 120G

My question-is it possible BY using Disk Management to shrink D to 50G and add the remaining 70G to C ?
(so C will be 170G and D 50G )

How can i do it with windows Disk Management?
Is it possible at all to extend C partition even though windows instillation on it ?

If disk management shows something like this, reading left to right:

C D

and you then shrink D, the freed up space will be to the right of D, like this:

C D unallocated


And you can't then add the unallocated to C because D is in the way.

You have to use a third party utility in such a case.

If you'll post back a screenshot of your full Disk Mgmt drive map with listings, we can give you customized steps. However generally you would rightclick D to resize it from the left, by dragging the left grey border to the right, click OK. Then rightclick C to drag it's right grey border to the right to take up the space, click OK, Apply all steps.
