Notification Area behaving abruptly

No matter what and where I search, I found no solution to my problem.
My notification area is behaving strangely :
By default if one clicks the clock, the network icon or that small triangle arrow that shows the list of hidden icons, the clock or the list should remain on screen so further action can be taken but mine clock or other list disappear as soon as I move my pointer on them. Strange isn't it ?
If I failed to make my point clear. Here is a simple example :
When I left click the far right of notification area i.e time & date, the calender appears, but as soon as I move my mouse pointer to the calender or some other area, the calender disappears whereas it should remain on screen to see some older dates or so. The same thing happen with other notification icons like network etc.

P.S. : If I move the pointer at a very fast phase (relay quick) to the opened list, then I am able to use it as normal. The keyboard arrow keys also work if left click the icon and then use the keyboard.

What options do I have to rectify this problem.

Run CCleaner and check the item; "Tray Notifications Cache" under "Advanced" options.

Now stop and then restart Explorer.

This clears the cache and resolves most problems.

Restarting windows is no use, you have to restart Explorer, ( which is the operating shell), for the repair to work.

Copy and paste the following into a new document:

taskkill /f /IM explorer.exe
explorer.exe

Save your document with a descriptive name such as restart_explorer.bat. Make sure to save the file with the .bat extension and not .txt.

When CCleaner has finished, click on the .bat file you just created, and Explorer will be stopped and restarted. That should solve the problem.

To keep items on screen you have to RIGHT-CLICK on the icon. The display pop-up will then remain on screen until you click somewhere else. Left clicking will also work on some things, but not all, these disappear when you move the mouse away, and you also get a different display on some items if you left-click. Some items don't do anything at all if you left-click on them. If you "HOVER" over an item, it pops up a display which more or less immediately disappears when you move the mouse away form the icon ( how long is remains depends on the delay setting for this action).

This also presupposes that your mouse and other settings are set to more or less "standard" settings.

Well, my first resort if anything "strange" is happening, is first to check the system for malware. Some is designed just to annoy you.

Download this;

Malwarebytes

and run a FULL scan. If it finds anything, post the log here.

I don't have a clock and calendar on this machine, ( at least not in the system tray), so I am going to set that up and try it.
