Programs & BrowserS tabs close unexpectantly

I use both Google Chrome and IE and with each at times tabs simply close--there are NO addons that are for both

I also notice this happening with Word

    I get no error messages

I have NOT added any 3d party programs when this started

I cannot discover one unique thing that happens to cause this, so I sense the problem must be with my OS

Any suggestions to remedy this will be great appreciated

    There's obviously something wrong
my first step would be to ensure there's no "intruder" messing you up
Load and run this to see where we are
    Malwarebytes

and then, just to be on the safe side, follow this

SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

    -DG

What Sledge said. Also, does it happen in Safe Mode?

The only malware I found and deleted was a "trojan.gbfe"

My browsers are both still doing this

It is just annoying, nothing else is going on that would indicate I have a virus or have been hijacked

Download & install SuperAntiSpyware Free. Update it 1st then run a full scan.

I appreciate the help so far, but I am still getting this weird action

Nothing else seems to be working improperly

Did you try my suggestion? Anything came up?

EDIT : Also try opening up task manager. See if there's any suspicious processes.
