Start Menu Application Take Time To Start

The problem that i am facing is that, my windows 7 search is instantaneous but when i click on the application the application takes time to load but if i run the same application from Desktop it will load immediately. This happens only one first time after bootup. does any1 else face the same problem?

    Have you scanned for malware?

In my opinion if this was coz of malware it would happen everytime but since this only happens the first time so i doubts thts the case. However, to answer your question, i have Microsoft ForeFront Client installed ( which is an advanced version of Microsoft Security Essential) so if there were any malware they would of have been detected.

You'd be surprised, it won't pick everything up

I have a feeling it could be sonething to do with your Indexing Service, try the following...

1, Click and type Indexing into the box
2, Click Find and fix problems with Windows Search

Follow the on-screen prompts and see if the troubleshooter comes up with any errors.

Note sure I would call it an "advanced" version of MSE. I would call it a business version. Though they use the same core, MSE is marketed (though free) for home use. Forefront for business (of any size).

In my opinion if this was coz of malware it would happen everytime but since this only happens the first time so i doubts thts the case.
I would NEVER make those assumptions.

    1. I would never assume malware consistently does anything.
    2. Most malware is poorly coded by wannabes.
    3. The professional malware coder strives for unpredictability.
    4. No single security solution is perfect.
Therefore, when it comes to malware, doubting it's malware is not good enough. ESPECIALLY when there are other networked computers with Internet access and other users who may not be as security conscious. At the very least, I would update and scan again with ForeFront and then perform a supplemental scan with a second scanner, such as the excellent Malwarebyte's AntiMalware (MBAM).

Anytime you encounter odd behavior, it is best to eliminate malware, including spyware, as the cause, or contributing factor. Hopefully, Orbital Shark's suggestion will do the trick. I wish I had remembered that one.

Hey thanks for your quick reply! I ran AVG and symmantec to no avail. Furthermore, i also tried the indexing option but unfortunately it didnt find any error.

I missed stating one observation, when i search for a particular application, if the search returns with the application name AND "ICON" then it will load immediately otherwise if the application doesnt have an ICON and i press enter it takes time to load. by not having an icon i mean the white icon. and if i keep the search list open without pressing enter, the icon loads and if i press enter then the APP will load immediately.
