Solved icons disappearing

win 7 x64
There are 2 or 3 applications that r running that have no icon in the systray.
I have tried the reg fix of deleting the iconstrams and pasticonstreams. That fix DOES work but only temporarily.
The next boot they may be there and may not be there.
sometimes it holds for a coupla boots and then the problem starts again.

Has anyone found a permanent fix for this bug?

Have you tried rebuilding the icon cache?

I did not. I just ran the batch file and re=booted.
Everything is normal for now. Only time will tell (i'll know fer sure in a few days)

Glad to hear it's working for now.

Been a while but just thought i'd update on this. That problem is still occurring occasionally.
I put a batch file on my destop...
@echo off
taskkill /f /im explorer.exe
start explorer.exe


When an icon is missing I just run the batch file to restart explorer and all is ok.

A dirty fix but it works.
